Good news for referral letters! - yourwordsbleedthrough - 05-31-2014

I just got home from my therapy appointment and it went really well. My therapist is really understanding and easy to talk to. He was happy to write my referral letter. I brought my insurance policy and he kept that so he can fully go over it himself to make sure that he included everything possible in my referral letter. My therapist didn’t even charge me the $20 co payment and he isn’t charging me for the referral ( unlike my physician ) I feel like I really have a chance at my insurance company approving my claim. Once I get all my letters and paper work in hand I will contact a surgeon and have them submit all my paperwork to the insurance company. Hopefully within a few weeks I will find out for sure if I’ll be able to get top surgery. Since my insurance company states the would pay 90% I am thinking about having a garage sale to help gather up the $800 dollars I would need to pay out of pocket. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to raise some extra money? And does anyone have any expierence with surgeons in California ( besides surgeons up in San Fran ) ? Big Grin

That's great news! Your therapist sounds awesome.

There's information here about raising funds for surgery:

There are a lot of surgeons doing top surgery in California these days. Have you narrowed down your choices or are you just starting to look for a surgeon?
