Phalloplasty without hormones - Alec - 11-23-2021

Hello everybody,

I'm new here and couldn't find any concrete info online other than it can happen sometimes so thought I'd ask here.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any surgeons/surgeries/countries who would do a phalloplasty without hormones. My country says absolutely no without exception so it can be anywhere in the world.

I don't want to go on hormones for various reasons but have severe bottom dysphoria.

Any info or advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Hey Alec, The WPATH Standards of Care state that hormones are required *unless not clinically indicated*. Meaning, if hormones are not right for you but Phalloplasty is medically required, then you can have surgery without hormones. There are a number of surgeons who I think would do this, among them is Dr. Crane in Austin, Texas.

Thank you, I will look into him.

I've been panicking a bit about not being able to get it, so again, thank you.

You're welcome! I imagine there are many surgeons who would do Phalloplasty without hormones, specifically those who are working in step with developments at WPATH. The ones who wouldn't do this are 1) stuck in the past and/or 2) concerned about being sued. <= Neither are patient-centered attitudes.
