Hey there! - averyfawn@gmail.com - 07-18-2015

Hey everyone!

I'm Avery. I've been on T for 6 months and I'm working on top surgery (still pre-op for now tough.) I'm trying to work on strategies for getting myself closer to surgery, and any advice at all would be appreciated. I've wanted it for years now and I'm not any closer than I was before, which can be frustrating, but I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Welcome!

Your optimism is key, I think! It's not easy getting money together for surgery, let alone figuring out all the life adjustments and logistics around it. Those who focus on perseverance, creativity, sacrifice and networking tend to have the most success.

Are you also considering going the OHIP route? You could have your surgery covered if you can wait a few years and go to the Montreal surgeons. Or, get that process started, but also work concurrently on self-funding Dr. McLean and see which comes up first? (I'm assuming you're in ON based on your interest in Dr. McLean.)
