Thanks for the update, Jak! Great to hear you're doing well. I didn't like the codeine either! I got off that as quickly as I could. (I also took Arnica to reduce bruising and swelling, recommended by my surgeon.) Codeine did bung me up, but one dose Senna took care of that.

I am 57 and having surgeon consultation Monday for top surgery this year. I had not thought about skin elastisicty, I'll add it to my long list of questions. I would welcome any other questions I should ask the surgeon, Dr. Kathy Rumer in Philly, will pass on anything useful. She does about 150 tops a year and has a good reputation locally.

I pulled these links out from deeper in another thread, you might find them helpful for your consult tomorrow: Ask Your Surgeon These Questions at Your Consultation

Look forward to hearing about it!

Rumor does have a good rep! I went in to my consult with a big list and got all my questions answered. My Doc and team were very patient with me. More questions too may come up during your consult, or after. No doubt they will answer as needed. They know it's a big deal for you, and will help as needed I bet.

Good luck!

Hi.. I am 56 and I am considering a ftm top surgery in Toronto. I would like to hear some experiences.I was really worried in the beginning about my age. But now after seeing this forum I feel a bit relieved.

MOD NOTE: The link was removed from your post as Dr. McLean's web people keep trying to spam this forum.

I had my top surgery at age 59 and have been absolutely fine. No restrictions..I think if you pick good surgeon based upon the work and desire...you'll be fine. If you have specific questions, ask away.
