Surgeons who take insurance upfront - notyouraveragejoe - 02-11-2014

I just wanted to compile a list of providers that take insurance upfront. No matter where they are located it would be good to know so those of us with the financing option of insurance maybe able to have a more conclusive look at our surgical options when it comes to top, hysto, and lower surgeries...

I will list my surgeons:

Dr. Paul Weiss - Top
Dr. Zoe Rodriguez - Hysto
Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic -Meta
Dr Curtis Crane - Phalloplasty

Dr Curtis Crane also does top surgery, and his team work very hard to work with insurance. There's an extra fee for this, but imo it's worth it.

The fee your talking about is apart of your deposit, $500 for top. its the same for meta and phallo (1000-2000) and you are refunded half of that after surgery. Also depending on your insurance you may not pay any fees at all. I have Kaiser to date I have not paid for a deposit and have a set date(counting down the days now!), haven't paid a deposit, and won't pay anything else really upfront but that's just how my insurance works.

I talked with Dr. Mangubat (Seattle area - Tukwila & Bellevue specifically) just a week or so ago. He doesn't currently take insurance, but is talking with I believe Group Health and hopes to be covered in about a year or so.

If your looking for a Medicare surgeon Dr Schechter in Chicago takes Medicare . From what I hear it's a 80/20 split you need a supplemental insurance policy that will cover the 20% or you can pay the 20% yourself.
