Urgent Call for Binders! - Joshua - 10-21-2012

In A Bind, a program from TransActive Education & Advocacy, provides new or used binders to young trans and gender variant teens and young adults up to age 21 who do not have the financial means or family support to obtain them on their own.

In A Bind is less than a year old and already have almost 1,000 applicants on a wait list. If you have a binder in good condition that no longer fits or that you no longer need, please donate it to In A Bind.

Hey, Joshua. I had top surgery in October and I am about to send 8-10 binders to this group. I have been trying to get the word out about them as they are a little known group.

That's awesome, Brett! Good job. InABind also just benefited from Ryan Cassata's fund raising so they're getting in a good position to help out a lot of guys.

I keep a list of other binder programs, and while there are now several in the U.S., I'm only aware of one in the UK and one in Canada. I wonder, how does a trans guy in Eastern Europe, or Africa, etc. get a cheap or free binder?

Where can I donate binders in Canada? Thanks.

Glad you asked! I'm aware of two binder programs in Canada that accept donations:

Come As You Are's Binder Recycling Program offers a 10% coupon for each binder donated: http://www.comeasyouare.com/toronto-store-information/services-programs/binder-bucks-recycling-program/

Vancouver's Qmunity's Bra, Binder, and Breast Forms Exchange Program also accepts donations of worn binders in good shape, email link at bottom of this page: http://qmunity.ca/get-support/youth/bbbexchange/

Thank you for donating your binder!
