I got top surgery exactly a week ago, and I have drains. They were draining about 30-40 cc each for the first few days but are now down to about 5-10 cc each time. Do I have to not be draining anything at all before they can take the drains out?

Did your surgeon provide any guidance around this?

With my surgery, the drains could be removed once the daily output was less than 25cc for two days straight. That wound up being on day 6 post-op for me. I had mine removed by my local family doctor. (Odd sensation!)
