Hello, I'm transmasc nonbinary and just had a consultation for a hysterectomy/vaginectomy this morning. My doctor recommended I talk to some other trans people who have had a vaginectomy about their experience. She said since I am not planning to have further bottom surgery she wouldn't recommend a vaginectomy since it increases surgical risk, but I could still get it if I wanted. I'm pretty sure I want one and I was hoping some people here would be able to share their experience with with the surgery/recovery if they're comfortable. Than
Joshua

I had Vaginectomy as part of my Phalloplasty surgery. I had heard stories about this being the most painful part of surgery. I'd also heard surgeons say that it's dangerous, with a risk of significant blood loss. Neither of these were my experience. I had no pain from the Vaginectomy site. I did have some pain in the perineum if I stood up for too long, so I stayed in bed for all of my recovery (about 5 weeks with that stage.) I had minimal blood loss. I never considered opting out of this procedure and I'm glad I had it done.
