Dr. Aneesh Gupta, MD, MPH is a quadruple board-certified cosmetic surgeon in Pennsylvania who is skilled at performing FTM Top Surgery for his transgender and non-binary patients. Dr. Gupta mostly uses the Double Incision Top Surgery method with free nipple grafts. This is the most common Top Surgery technique and is usually the best choice for those who have medium or large chests.

In general, Double Incision Top Surgery involves two horizontal incisions made at the top and bottom of the pectoral muscle. Breast tissue is removed and additional liposuction may be used to provide a more masculine chest contour. If nipple grafting is being performed, the nipple-arela complex is removed, re-sized and grafted on to the chest in the appropriate male position.
Top Surgery recovery is typically uneventful and most patients can return to light work two weeks after surgery. All patients must abstain from heavy lifting, weight training and lifting arms over the head for six to eight weeks.
