I recently started researching Salgado for phallo. I am scheduled for meta with Dr. Crane on October 2, 2015, but just found out from my employer that they are switching to BCBS of MA. Since Dr. Crane is not in network with BCBS, I am beginning to evaluate my other options in case it doesn't work out as planned. I really like the results that I've seen of Salgado's. Could you please add me to the FB group as well: https://www.facebook.com/LWBigB

Congratulations on getting your upcoming procedure covered.

The original post in this thread is from over a year ago and that Facebook group no longer exists.

Not good. Sadly, the poster didn't understand this, got huffy and left.

As to your question, I don't have an answer. There are lots of private groups available already, and while they are helpful many of these spaces can also be intimidating and competitive. Good or bad, I imagine I will find my best support via one-to-one conversations. (That's how it worked out with a previous surgical complication.)

True indeed, as I didn't even have to have a name to know exactly who it was as I know the person. So I get it 100% but I also understand from that patients stand point he had no where to really share due to the competitive nature or the downplaying of his complications due to others not having a similar situation. I couldn't fathom doing that even if someone had a zillion complications with the same surgeon I used I'd never tell them their input it null which many will and have done. Hopefully in the future more guys will learn respect and modesty. We'd get alot farther as a community.

Just a heads up its quite easy to get crane covered as in network even if Salgado is currently in network you can state your case based on his creditials and techniques. Salgado does not offer the same technique of phalloplasty the only phallo they do alike is forearm and even then crane does his totally different. But as I said I know plenty who have got him covered as in network. Yes you have to do a little footwork but if it's what you really need it'll be like icing on the cake. Also someone you may not know of Dr Schechter in Chicago takes any insurance you can think of long as they covering srs and I believe he doesn't meta not sure but I know for fact he does forearm, ALT, and MLD,. But to see results you'd have to consult in person or wait til one of the guys has surgery this year. I know 3 who are so I'll slide back around when they do and shoot you a personal message if you'd like.

I also don't have FB for the record lol

Hello,
I saw that the fb thread was closed but was wondering if there was anywhere else I could find some of Dr.Salgado's results? I've set a consultation date with him and he accepts my insurance but I have yet to come across any results from him. I appreciate any help I can get!
Thanks!

If you're a member of TheDecidingLine or FTMPhalloplastyInfo mailing lists, I believe you can find photos of Dr. Salgado's work uploaded in the gallery.

The groups he discussed. Are great but I would also suggest contacting the patients one by one as you will hear some not so wonderful experiences. To date, I only heard of one person not having any complications. Others have to go to other Dr's to fix the issues Salgado created. I personally wouldn't refer my worst enemy to Salgado but that's just how I feel based on results(functionality and aesthetic), his lack of patient contact, his bedside manner, how he handles complications or should I say he doesnt, the fact that he's not a urologist(we messing with anything urology wise you want to have a urologist present), and the fact that in FL Dr's aren't required to have malpractice insurance. That didn't sit with me at all if something happened to me I'm basically assed out. So these an a few other factors cut him off my list quickly.

I think the confusion was over a group specific to Dr. Salgado patients/results. Either that or confusion with the other FB phallo group that was shut down last fall. There are at least two FB groups specific to phalloplasty that I'm aware of, plus a couple of others that touch on phalloplasty frequently. Some of these groups are hidden and require an invite, and that too adds to the confusion if someone is looking and can't find them.

Yea I don't know about Fb haven't had an account in 6 years and don't plan on it lol. Um I do have a question, maybe it's just me and my buddy having issues but every time we upload pics to Transbucket.com they mysteriously disappear or are flagged. Now I would hate to think like this but we are AA and those are the only results to consistently disappear. This didn't happen with my meta which is the only result of dark skin on there but my buddy and I both tried to upload phallo results from Crane ALT phalloplasty and they just disappear. I've contacted the so called site Admin a few times with no resolve. So I'd like to know your experience and how long you have had photos up there?

Also if anyone knows the direct contact for the owner or Admin of the site please by all means post it so that I can settle this matter. It's just highly annoying to even think we might be targeting for other reasons. I did exchange a few words with a forearm guy who blatantly came to my photos and bashed them because he got forearm and Dr leidl told him and many others ALT is obsolete. He then exclaimed no one has a 7.5 inch penis lol well I can disprove that notion very easily. It's just sad to think jealousy just might have fueled the removal as I notice it only takes 3 different accounts to flag a photo and doesn't look like Admin is active in seeing if a photo was actually violating terms or if their members are either. I really miss the old site we used to have.
