Hello,
I am considering a metoidioplasty surgery and had a few questions for people who have gotten them.
The reason I choose Metoidioplasty is because I read that there is a better sensation with the finished result than opposed to a regular phalloplasty. Is this your experience? Can you still achieve orgasm with a metoidioplasty? Is it really able to become erect?
I know there are different ways that a Metoidioplasty can be done (clitoral release, scrotoplasty, closing the vaginal canal) and want to get a scrotoplasty but am apprehensive about completely closing off my vaginal canal. is it a possible route to do both or is it a one or the other?
It's an odd question but what are the balls like? can you feel them? When they're touched?
Any insight into these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Joshua

I didn't have Metoidioplasty, but...

Barring accidental damage to the clitoral nerves, sensation after Metoidioplasty should be the same as before surgery. With innervated Phalloplasty, one of the clitoral nerve branches is connected to the donor site nerve with the goal of providing sensation to the phallus. This often works but sometimes doesn't.

If one can orgasm before surgery, it's exceedingly rare to lose that ability, whether after Metoidioplasty or Phalloplasty.

Metoidioplasty phalluses get hard, just like before surgery (though some people lose that ability due to complications.)

You can have Scrotoplasty and preserve the vaginal canal. However, if you also want the ability to stand to pee, it's important to know that 1) urethral complications are much higher when Vaginectomy is not performed and 2) there are only a few surgeons who will do urethral lengthening without Vaginectomy.

There are two types of testicular implants available: saline filled silicone and solid silicone. You can feel them in the sense that you can feel them in your scrotum but the implants themselves have no sensation.

Hope this helps!
