I’m Ali, and I’m a 23 year old trans man from North Carolina. I started my mental and emotional transition from female to male about 6 months ago, and started my physical transition (HRT) just about a month ago. Growing up, I always had a larger chest than average, which has always caused a sense of dysphoria for me, even before deciding to transition. In searching for FTM resources, I was lucky enough to be able to find very good binding solutions that allow me to have a more masculine appearance, but I know, health-wise, that this is not a suitable long term solution.
Since moving from Charlotte, NC and beginning my first salary job out of college, I have been saving anywhere and everywhere I can to be able to afford my long-awaited surgery. I’ve looked up and applied for any and all available trans related surgical grants and have even looked into CareCredit, for which I am unfortunately ineligible. Which brought me here!
If anyone is able to offer anything in the way of donations (link included above and below) it is sincerely, sincerely appreciated. I have been so fortunate to have great friends, colleagues and family that have been able to contribute to my savings fund, but I still have a very long way to go.
Even if you can’t offer any money, any advice, resources (for those that may be in NC) or just words of encouragement is also greatly welcomed.
