Dr. Daniel Jacobs, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon who brings more than 30 years of experience to the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco. Dr. Jacobs is proud to devote his deep experience in plastic surgery to gender-affirming care, believing that it's every person's right to feel comfortable in their own body. With the addition of Dr. Jacobs, the Gender Confirmation Center increases their capacity to perform Top Surgery while reducing wait times.
Dr. Jacobs performs surgeries Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and the Vista Surgery Center, a fully accredited surgery center located in the same building as the Gender Confirmation Center's office. Both facilities offer highly personalized care and have staff who are trained in gender-affirming care.
Dr. Jacobs offers in-person and virtual consultations at no cost. The wait time for a consultation is about one month and the wait time for a surgery date is 4-6 weeks after your consultation.
Average Cost of Top Surgery
The exact cost of Top Surgery can only be determined after you've had a consultation. In general, those paying out-of-pocket can expect the fee to be approximately $8500-10,000. The price is all-inclusive: pre- and post-operative appointments, surgeon's fee, operating room fees, anesthesia fee, implants and post-operative binder. You can pay for Top Surgery with cash, credit cards or medical financing.

Top Surgery Requirements and Eligibility
- To qualify for Top Surgery, you need to be in good physical health and any significant mental health concerns must be reasonably well controlled at the time of surgery.
- At this time, Dr. Jacobs only operates those who are age 18 and over.
- Testosterone hormone replacement therapy is not required to have Top Surgery.
- Dr. Jacobs operates on informed consent and a support letter from a mental health provider is not required. However, if you're using insurance, the insurance company will require one or two letters indicating that your Top Surgery is medically required.
