Hi there,
I'm planning to have metoidioplasty, but without the vaginectomy, and without urethral lengthening. I'm talking to Dr Crane in San Francisco, and Dr Miro in Belgrade, both of whom can do this. I would like to talk to men who have had it done this way as I have many questions, I've been unable to find any photos of how things look, which is a problem, as I want to know exactly what I will be getting. Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Jack.

Yes, I'm aware of many guys who have opted for this, commonly referred to as a "simple meta" or "clitoral release." Drs. Bowers, McGinn, Medalie, Meltzer, Reed and Alter are other good surgeons for this procedure. (There are others too... you have many more surgeon options with this procedure.) What kinds of questions do you have? Based on what you need I can see what I can come up with.

#Thanks for your reply.
I will be going to Belgrade and Dr Miro for this (finance and distance).
I would like to know what to expect if I have metoidioplasty with testicular implants. I definitely won't have the urethral extension, due to previous bladder problems. I am undecided about vaginectomy. I was concerned that having it removed would result in lost sexual sensation, as there is a good deal around there. However, penetration is uncomfortable now (post hysterectomy) and I've largely given up on it, and I have heard that sensation is more intense in the phallus with vaginectomy. But, what is it like to have that done but without the urethral extension, where will be the place to pee from? Is the perineum male appearing despite that? And will the testicular implants look as good/be as big if I don't have the vaginectomy?
It's very important that the end result looks as male as possible, for instance to be able to walk around in the sauna without a towel and be passable. I am gay and very uncomfortable with the presence of the female appearance genitally. Transitioned 12 years ago and pass 100% with the exception of the genitals.
So many questions, and I have been unable to get any of the surgeons to send photos of it done in this way, so I am contemplating something unknown, which is not good. I'd like to see some pictures.
To sum up, is there anyone around who has had metoidioplasty and testicular implants but a) without urethral extension and vaginectomy and b) with vaginectomy but still with no urethral extension?
Any help much appreciated. Thankyou. Jack.

I held off answering this because I have not had this surgery, but here's what I can tell you:

Sensation more intense in the penis with vaginectomy: Highly subjective and could be more related to the biggest sex organ (the brain) as opposed to actual surgical method and nerve sensations.

The urethral opening is above the vaginal opening and closing the latter will not necessitate modification of the former. The perineum would include a urethral opening.

I don't think scrotoplasty results would be effected by not having the vaginectomy since the scrotum is created from the labia majora.

Dr. Miro will be able to clarify and provide photos. He's excellent at communicating over email!

I am new to the forums, came with questions of my own, but wanted to share this link with you from the Dr. Miro`s web that gives great detail to his procedure with Metoidioplasty.

He has also added pictures of post op.

Jack, I have had a simple metoidioplasty without vaginectomy and without urethra lengthening last summer. I also had a a pubic lift (aka a mons resection which lifts everything forward). I had it done with Dr. Medalie in Cleveland, OH and it costed $9,000. If you have any questions, want to see photos, whatever feel free to message me. My preference is e-mail as I'm more likely to see it. Which is kylec920 at hotmail dot com
It's also okay if you reply on here, but it's possible I will miss it.
